Fluorite Fluorite
was formed millions of years ago by the action of hot vapors, or
vapor-bearing water, rising into cracks and crevices in the earth's
crust. The name is derived from the Latin word "fluere," which
means "flow." Less than 10% of all the Fluorite mined is suitable
for carving. Today, the finest lapidary grade Fluorite comes from
China. No other stone offers the color diversity of Fluorite.
Hues of blue, green, purple and yellow, combined with Fluorite's natural
translucency, make this magical gemstone an unequalled art medium,
expressed in exquisite carvings executed by master carvers. |
